Also during the summer months the Hawth also provides outdoor entertainment in their amphitheatre and marquee, which are hugely popular events in their own right.
Crawley Leisure Centre is the perfect place for the whole fun to enjoy a day’s entertainment. This award-winning centre is one of the largest of its kind to be found in the south east of England and is located over a 17-acre site on Haslette Avenue. The facilities include a sizeable swimming pool, gym, athletics track, bowls hall, crèche, café and bar area, as well as squash courts, free weights and for great relaxation a sauna and solarium. There’s also a skate park and a play area for younger children.
The Tilgate Forest Golf Centre is a gold lovers dream. There’s a championship 18-hole course, in addition to a 9-hole par 3 course. For practising the perfect swing there’s also a 35 bay driving range and the option to hire professional instructors for a few lessons. After your game you can then relax in the clubhouse and enjoy a drink or two, or even a meal in their restaurant area.
Hollywood Bowl is one of the country’s premier tenpin bowling companies and has a branch based in Crawley’s Leisure Park along the London Road. The-state-of-the-art facilities give you a chance to experience tenpin bowling at its best and there’s a good range of refreshments on offer too, in fact all you need for a few hours of great family entertainment.
To find out more about the local area, take a trip to the Crawley Museum Centre (01293 539088). The Museum Centre is housed in an extension of a former country house situated in Goffs Park on Old Horsham Road. Although Crawley is a new town there are exhibits of life here dating back to Neolithic times. Visitors to the museum though should note that it is only open on Sundays and Wednesdays between 2 & 4pm.
